An side effect of Luxurious world Gadgets

People of 21st century although believe that they live in luxurious world won’t care about the side effects they had created side by side. This side effects is very worse and can even take human life if the gadgets of luxurious world is utilized improperly.
A gadget of this luxurious world, airplane is the safest mode of transportation. US National Transportation Safety Board compiles aviation accident data in 2008 that for driving 1.27 fatalities per 100 million vehicle miles traveled but for flying zero accidents per million flying miles. No one died, and only five people were seriously injured. But when this gadgets are utilized without considering the proper way of its utilization it can even take human life.
Recently crashed Air Kastamandap
On 26th Feb 016, the airplane flying from Nepalgunj for Jumla crashed on the way when it had reached Kalikot with death of Pilot and F/O and 9 passenger injured. I myself had also traveled via this plane recently on Oct 015 from Jumla to Nepalgunj. The crashed plane of Air Kastamandap having single engine was designed particularly to carry goods. But it used to carry passenger due insufficient planes in this route. Nepal often face airplane accident with recent crashing of Tara air having death of all 23 travelling the plane three days before this accident. It means we are not following the international rules and regulation about flight safety due to which many peoples should die for no reason.
This implies that we are using the gadgets developed for luxurious world improperly and the side effect are taking innocent people life’s.

Vastly variant two neighboring Karnali districts

Jumla and Kalikot although are adjacent districts of Karnali zone varies to a great extent regarding the geographical, climatic and social aspects. This amazing zone integrates both the part of heaven and hell within its small territory.
I spent almost nine months at the HQ of Karnali zone, Jumla during my job on RAP3 and had a chance to visit most of the touristic area within the district. Beside the official work during the visit I knowingly or unknowingly also had a chance to understand the socio-cultural aspects of the district. I really liked Jumla, truly a part of heaven.

Guthichaur, Jumla

Khali, Jumla
The touristic places like Khali, Guthichaur, Chhumchaur, Gachhusangu and Manisanghu are worth visiting once. The scenario view of these places at the time of snow as well as at the time of green grass are mind-blowing. Due to the presence of small to large valleys in addition with the availability of the sources of water within the district, I’ve seen the best utilization of irrigated land in the cultivation of apple, paddy, maize, wheat, cereals and vegetables. It is the Chhumchaur which is the place where paddy is cultivated at the highest altitude around the world. People migrate to Patan in search of hervals, Jadibuttu, Yarsa, etc. for around two months every year and finds a good source of income.
Also, I found different micro hydropower although not connected with the national grid but having the capacity to supply required energy needed for the district. The HQ Khalanga located in Chandanath Municipality has almost buildings two to three stored, many recently made are engineered RCC and others are of stones. It became possible when the district had an access through road since few couple of years. You can do a shopping at Khalanga Bazzar where every items of goods are available at reasonable price although you may not get opportunity to choose among many of them. The Chandanath temple is also situated at the HQ which is one of the oldest and famous religious place. Every year in the day Ghatasthapana, the tall wooden poles are changed by locals with a great worship and celebration at the temple.
view from Manma, Kalikot
Unlike Jumla, Kalikot where I am now posted since 3 months ago is resource less, rocky, infertile and risky area. Manma, the HQ of Kalikot is situated at the ridge of hill with narrow surface area. Although the road to Jumla is connected through Kalikot, due the lack of space to extend the market and presence of gigantic rocks Kalikot remained back in market extension.
Lalighat, Kalikot
Further, the construction of building is too haphazard with no proper design. One of the cause for this may be due to non-compliance in use of building laws in the VDC Manma unlike in Municipality districts. The district is out of electricity since last 6 months when the electricity had come for only about two months for the first time. Most of the people and offices uses solar power as an only source of electricity.  Also, the sources of income of the people is either to migrate to India for employment or to cultivate in small part of land and hardly fulfill need of themselves. Due to the reason people here has an attitude of theft, loot and blackmailing.
Similarly, I wonder most of the people here do not involve in the religious activities often rather drink alcohol and conduct quarrels and crime in the home and with the neighbors. In addition, here is less rainfall and negligible snowfall resulting in the absence of moisture in the air and so you often feel thirsty here. Further, here is no any touristic places with greenery view neither with the white snow. Only you see is the steep terrain with virgin Karnali flowing down.

Thus, within the small variation in the geo-location, I haven’t ever found such places where climatic, geography and social condition are fully out of phase. You can experience a different world by traveling only 5 hours vehicular distance from Kalikot to Jumla.

INGOs vs Government job

We are the people of the country where most of the educated people try to hold either INGOs or government job. They have their own perspective on which type of jobs to choose, INGOs or Government? May be this doesn’t applies to people who holds other job or is jobless and wish to choose any of them. Nevertheless, they may somewhat be biased.
INGOs and government job has its own pros and cons. Priority you give for pros of which type matters for choosing one of them. The goal you set in your life really plays a vital role in determining the benefits of each of them for you. It is my personal belief that unless you destroy your creativity being energetic you shall always move forward to reach your targeted goal. No matter which type of job you hold.
For being success in life money really matters. Money attracts money. INGOs jobs varies often has a greater scale of salary than that of government. However, government job holders earns far more than job holders in INGOs. You should have already known what am I taking about? Yes, its corruption. Government job here is severely polluted due to corrupted system. Even if you are clean in the matter corrupted system will surely ruin you. Further, you are going to be money minded. One thing you learn for the senior staff is how to corrupt and another thing is you are not going to get anything for sure unless you become more talented than them. In this learning process, you should have already forgotten the way of being creative and energetic in doing the job. You will only have the habit of sleeping and waiting for end of the month to receive the untimely paid salary. You can earn more but you cannot sleep well. The corrupted wealth will always burns you and if you are caught once your life gets ruined. On the other hand, you can never retain your INGOs job sleeping and talking, you must work. There will be less chance of being your creativity destroyed. You become more energetic, laborious and also get motivated by the timely paid salary. No matter you earn less income than government one you can sleep well. Your white money will never torture you and never act as hindrance to achieve success in your life because you can always raise your head in mass and act bold. However, INGOs job also has its own cons. You can hardly earn a fame greater than government job holders. You will be deprive of power due to which your voice is deemed in corrupted system of the country.  You will certainly receive less facility than that of others. On the other hand, government job holders can use their power to get the services easily.
Which job you choose depends on the way you think and how you choose to fulfill your goal, either it may be money or it may simply be sound sleep. Nevertheless, it’s up to you choose the best you think.

Bye Bye to Jumla

Chandanath temple, Jumla

Its been about 7 months I worked with RAP3 staying at Jumla as an engineering Intern and Graduate engineer subsequently. I didn't even noticed how fast time has gone and how fast this place sticked in my mind. I don't know what factor has caused me to think I'm gonna miss this place. May be the coordination of the team, or the beautiful places I had visited, or experiences I gained visiting nooks and corner of the district. But I'm sure I will visit it time and again.
I've now been posted to the neighbouring district Kalikot one of the district of Karnali. I am glad that I'm going to receive experience on works in construction of new roads whereby previously I worked only in the maintenance district. Kalikot is often called mine of stone and capital of lizards ( ढुङ्गाको खानी, छेपारोको राजधानी ). I've heard people working in the district faced hard time due to the geography and the local people. It is my personal belief that life becomes more adventurous  when you urge to face the challenges that comes in life. Engineering and challenges are really two faces of a coin. I'm really excited for facing the challange.

For now I'm preparing to move from my residence in Khalanga,Jumla for tomorrow morning. Hope I'll find a better residence at Manma, Kalikot.

Experience of Time travel from East to West

Einstein’s theory of relativity, Stephen-Hawking’s Nobel ‘Theory of Everything’ and other great scientists theory have explained about time travel. Nepal geographically varies about 15 minutes in time but I have an experience of 15 years of time travel. I have experienced it and might other working in remote part have experienced it too. My story goes like this.
I was born in Jhapa located at the bottom east of the country. It is recognized as one of the developed city comparing other cities within the country. I am a Civil Engineer and now working at the remote part of the remotest zone, west of Nepal. It’s the district Jumla, the headquarter of Karnali, quite developed but is limited within the district HQ khalanga. I have been working here since last six months in the development sector stickily on maintenance of rural road.  Meanwhile, I also have had a chance to visit the remotest part of the district. Traveling is one of the best way of learning, I felt it.  I knew how important role a road plays in development and this is the development which lets you feel as if you had traveled with time.

I was on the field visit to Dillichaur-Chummchaur rural road accompanied by Intern Engineer. After the full day site inspection we stayed at one of the User committee member’s house. He is recognized as one of the richest person in the village. At night after launch he switched on the television for watching films. I was also watching it with keen interest because it had been almost five months I hadn’t got chance to watched it. Meanwhile, when I turned back a group of kids nearby houses had already sat in row, quiet and innocent. They had a fear, if they made noises the house owner would turn off the television. They are not concerned with which channels they are watching, they just need to watch anything displays on the screen. This was the same situation, I had already seen before 15 years ago at my home Jhapa. I felt I had traveled 15 years back in time.
